Welcome to Mexico! Upon arrival, we’ll provide a transfer to the hotel, after which you will have free time. Our guide will contact you late in the afternoon.
IMPORTANT: If you requested additional nights, your room will be ready upon arrival at the hotel, but your trip guide will only contact you when the included activities begin. Until then, you’ll have free time to enjoy at your leisure.
Note: The schedules provided in this itinerary are indicative. The guide may adjust them as needed to enhance the trip experience.
Mexico City.-
08.30 hrs.- Today we have a fantastic day acquaint ourselves with Mexico. We include a sightseeing tour of the city. We will visit the Plaza of Three Cultures, and the historic centre in which the Zócalo (main square) and its Metropolitan Cathedral stand out, the main Aztec temple, Chapultepec Park, the “Paseo de la Reforma” Avenue and the other main avenues of this impressive city.
At the end of the visit we travel to the BASILICA OF GUADALUPE, the most visited Catholic temple in the Americas where the Virgin of Guadalupe is found. There we will be able to explore the old basilica dating back to the 18th Century and also the modern temple.
In the afternoon we travel to the neighbourhood of XOCHIMILCO, a wonderful place with its canals and semi-floating gardens. Here we include a ride in a “trajinera”, one of the boats festooned with flowers.
18.00 Hrs.- Return to the hotel
21.00 Hrs.- We include a transfer to the Plaza de GARIBALDI, with its many bars, restaurants and bars where tacos and tequila are served and the Mariachis sing. Dinner is included in a traditional restaurant.
Mexico City - Ex-Hacienda de Chautla – Cholula - Puebla
Total distance covered: 144 km.
Scenery: We’ll travel from the bustling metropolis into the green valleys of the state of Puebla, passing coniferous forests, fertile farmland, and—weather permitting—enjoying views of the majestic Popocatépetl volcano.
08:00 a.m. – Departure from Mexico City. We’ll leave the capital behind and head into the heart of the country, following a route rich in history and mountain landscapes.
09:45 a.m. – Ex Hacienda de Chautla (tickets included). Arrival at this 18th-century former estate, one of the most photographed sites in central Mexico. Its main attraction is an English-style castle nestled on an artificial lake and surrounded by forest, creating a postcard-perfect setting. We’ll have time to stroll through its gardens and historic grounds while enjoying the natural surroundings.
11:15 a.m. – Departure from Ex Hacienda de Chautla. We’ll continue on to one of the region’s most picturesque towns.
12:00 p.m. – Cholula. Arrival in this ancient city, known for housing the largest pyramid base in the world, now partially hidden beneath a hill. At its summit stands the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, offering spectacular views of the valley and nearby volcanoes. Free time to explore the charming main square and soak in the traditional atmosphere.
01:45 p.m. – Departure from Cholula. In just a few minutes, we’ll arrive at the state capital.
02:15 p.m. – Puebla. Arrival in this vibrant and monumental city, where history and modernity blend seamlessly. Its UNESCO-recognized historic center showcases an exceptional Baroque legacy, most notably seen in its majestic Cathedral and the extraordinary Chapel of the Rosary, considered a masterpiece of New Spanish Baroque. Accommodation and free time to begin exploring this lively city, full of flavor, culture, and charm.
Puebla - Monte Albán - Oaxaca
Total distance covered: 340 km.
Scenery: We’ll cross the southern mountain ranges of Mexico, passing dramatic highland landscapes, fertile valleys, and rural villages where ancient traditions are still alive.
07:30 a.m. – Departure from Puebla. We’ll leave the capital of the state of Puebla behind as we enter Oaxaca, a region known for its rich cultural, archaeological, and culinary heritage. The journey will take us through mountains, canyons, and sweeping natural scenery.
01:15 p.m. – Oaxaca. Arrival in the capital city of Oaxaca, renowned for its harmonious architecture and strong Indigenous identity. After lunch, we’ll head up to one of Mexico’s most iconic archaeological treasures: Monte Albán. Located 400 meters above the Oaxaca Valley, this ancient ceremonial center was the capital of the Zapotec civilization for over a thousand years. We’ll explore its platforms, pyramids, ball courts, and ornately decorated tombs while learning about the worldview and structure of this great civilization (admission and guided tour included).
After the visit, we’ll return to Oaxaca for a panoramic tour of its historic center, recognized as a World Heritage Site. We’ll admire its stunning Cathedral, the Church of Santo Domingo, and the lively plazas and colonial streets brimming with life. You’ll then have free time to continue enjoying the unique atmosphere of this city, also celebrated for its handicrafts, mezcal, and diverse traditional cuisine.
Oaxaca - San Pablo Villa de Mitla - Tuxtla
Total distance covered: 505 km.
Scenery: We’ll venture along one of the most scenic routes in southern Mexico, crossing the Oaxaca highlands, the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, and lush tropical landscapes that lead us to the heart of Chiapas.
08:30 a.m. – Departure from Oaxaca. We’ll begin a day rich in cultural and natural beauty, traveling along roads that connect two states deeply rooted in the country’s Indigenous heritage.
10:00 a.m. – San Pablo Villa de Mitla. Arrival in this Pueblo Mágico, known for its ancestral traditions and distinctive adobe-and-stone architecture. It’s also famous for preserving remnants of the Zapotec culture. We’ll have time to walk around the Church of San Pablo, built in the 16th century atop an ancient ceremonial platform, and stroll through its rustic, charming streets.
11:00 a.m. – Departure from San Pablo Villa de Mitla. We’ll continue southeast, crossing the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, a key region in Mexico’s geography and culture. Lunch will be included en route.
07:45 p.m. – Tuxtla Gutiérrez. Arrival in the capital of Chiapas, a modern and dynamic city that blends urban life with natural beauty in its surroundings. Accommodation.

Notes: We recommend you to take appropriate waterproof clothing for the speedboat ride.- The visit of the towns of Zinacantán and San Juan can take place on Wednesday or Thursday morning (according to opening times of the church of San Juan).
08.30 hrs.- Tuxtla - Departure.
09.00 hrs.- We will explore the SUMDERO CANYON. Travelling by boat, we will travel for more than 1 hrs up this impressive canyon which is almost 1 km deep and 14 km long.
10.45 hrs.- Sumidero Canyon.- Departure.
11.00 hrs.- Next, we will walk through CHIAPA DEL CORZO, a white traditional and cultural colonial site. Time for a stroll and a coffee.
11.45 hrs.- Chiapa del Corzo. Departure. We enter into the center of the Mexican Mayan culture. We discover 2 beautiful villages inhabited by the Tzotzil Indians.
12.45 hrs.- In ZINACANTAN we can admire the dresses worn by the women and also their small loom workshop-shops.
13.45 hrs.- Zicacantan.- Departure.
14.15 hrs.- SAN JUAN CHAMULA we will be surprised by their church that mixes Christianity with pre-Columbian traditions. Time for lunch.
15.45 hrs.- San Juan Chamula.- Departure.
16.15 hrs.- We continue to SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS. Free afternoon in this beautiful colonial city founded in 1528.
San Cristóbal de las Casas - Grutas del Mamut - El Arcotete - San Cristóbal de las Casas
Total distance covered: 50 km (approximate route around San Cristóbal)
Scenery: Throughout the day, we’ll explore the natural wonders of the Chiapas highlands—coniferous forests, ancient caves, and stunning rock formations sur-rounded by dense vegetation and crystal-clear rivers that bring the landscape to life.
8:00 a.m. – Depart from San Cristóbal de Las Casas.
We’ll start a full-day trip with a local tour guide to discover some of the most amazing eco-parks around the area.
8:30 a.m. – Mammoth Caves (Las grutas del Mamut)
We’ll start at this impressive cave, named after a rock formation shaped like a mammoth. Inside, the mix of light and shadows over the limestone creates a magical, almost mysterious vibe—perfect for nature lovers and geology fans.
10:30 a.m. – Arcotete Ecoturism Park
Next, we’ll visit this beautiful natural park filled with lush greenery and plenty of wildlife. The highlight is a massive natural stone arch carved over thousands of years by the Fogótico River. You’ll also see caves, rock formations, and lots of stalactites throughout the site.
12:30 p.m. – Rancho Nuevo Ecoturism Park
These caves stretch over 10 kilometers and reach depths of up to 550 meters. A 750-meter lit walkway lets you safely explore the space and see all kinds of amazing formations created by stalactites and stalagmites. The park also offers optional activities like horseback riding or hiking—great for those who want to stick around a bit longer.
3:30 p.m. – Return to San Cristóbal de Las Casas
The afternoon is free to relax or keep exploring this charming colonial city at your own leisure.
San Cristóbal de las Casas - Moxviquil - San Cristóbal de las Casas
Total distance covered: 25 km (Approx. route between San Cristóbal and near-by areas)
Scenery: This tour will take us through protected natural areas of the Chiapas highlands, where cloud forests, endemic plant species, and a serene, revitalizing atmosphere prevail.
9:00 a.m. – Leaving San Cristóbal de Las Casas. We’re heading out on a 5-hour tour with a local guide to explore one of the re-gion’s most inspiring eco-educational spots.
Moxviquil – This natural sanctuary serves as a true learning community for sus-tainability. Surrounded by lush vegetation, we will explore the orchid garden, observe native birds, butterflies, and pollinators, and participate in interpretive hiking—an experience that encourages environmental awareness and reconnec-tion with nature through an educational lens.
12:00 p.m. – Maya Medicine Museum.
We will visit this fascinating museum dedicated to preserving and sharing the traditional healing practices of the Tsotsil and Tseltal peoples. Through a series of thematic exhibits, we’ll discover the spiritual and therapeutic world of Mayan healers: the Jilol (pulse reader), Koponej witz (hill prayer specialist), Tzakbak (bone-setter), Jvetome (midwife), and Acvomol (herbalist), all of whom still carry ancestral knowledge today.
2:00 p.m. – Back in San Cristóbal de Las Casas
Free afternoon to continue exploring the city or to relax in its cozy cafés and vibrant “plazas”.
