Sightseeing tour of this gorgeous capital city built on 13 interconnected islands. Water is everywhere. We will visit Gamla Stand or the "City between the Bridges", Stockholm’s Old Town full of life where many of the monumental buildings are located such as the Nobel Museum, located next to Stortorget main square, which pays tribute to the winners of the Nobel Prizes , the Cathedral or the Royal Palace. When possible we can have a nice view from the Fjällgatan viewpoint. Free time. We recommend visiting its museums and parks. We also recommend visiting the Town Hall and the Vasa ship museum.
STOCKHOLM - STOCKHOLM-TURKU FERRY
Free day in Stockholm. In the evening we will board a modern ferry, overnight accommodation in double cabins with private bathroom to go to Finland.
STOCKHOLM-TURKU FERRY - NAANTALI 36ºF - HELSINKI 36ºF
We recommend you to go to the ship deck at sunrise; we arrive to Finland by sailing along Aland Islands, contemplating hundreds of islands covered by forests. We shall see mesmerizing landscapes from the sea. Disembarkation and time to walk around TURKU, a city with a very strong Swedish influence. We continue our journey to the neighbor city of NAANTALI, very picturesque town of wooden houses next to the sea. We will later arrive in HELSINKI, time for lunch. Free afternoon, you will be able to get to know this city, with its old market, the Russian influence in its buildings and churches.
HELSINKI 36ºF - HELSINKI-TALLINN FERRY - TALLINN
We include a boat trip (regular line water local transport) to Suomenlinna Islands, - six islands where we highlight a great fortress that used to protect the sea entry to the city and was declared World Heritage - Time to stroll around (we will be able to cross island through its small pedestrian bridges). Late afternoon we shall board a ferry to Estonia; Ferry trip of around 2h30 duration; we suggest to admire the departure from Helsinki and the surrounding islands. Arrival to TALLINN.
The capital of Estonia is a wonderful city with a well-conserved medieval centre. Comprehensive tour of the city, its walls, churches, squares, and its mediaeval streets filled with tourist attractions. Free afternoon.
TALLINN - PARNU 37ºF - TURAIDA 37ºF - RIGA 37ºF
After passing through forests and plains, we reach PARNU, a popular spa city. Then we go on to Latvia. In TURAIDA we visit the mediaeval castle, surrounded by a large park with sculptures. Lunch is included. Afterwards, we pay a visit to SIGULDA, the small, charming capital situated in a very beautiful landscape . We arrive at RIGA in the middle of the afternoon.
Sightseeing tour of this capital city included. It is the most populated city of the Baltic Countries, more modern looking, which better preserves the remnants of the Soviet rule. Free afternoon.
RIGA 37ºF - RUNDALE - VILNIUS 34ºF
We will depart for LITHUANIA early in the morning. On our way there, we will visit the BAROQUE PALACE OF RUNDALE, built by the same architect who designed Saint Petersburg’s Hermitage Museum. We will cross over to Lithuania. This country has a strong Catholic influence. The impressive HILL OF CROSSES reminds us of this with thousands of crosses of all sizes. Lunch en route included. Afterwards, we will visit TRAKAI, a gorgeous castle located on a lake’s island quite close to Vilnius. Sojourn in VILNIUS. Note: Depending on the duration of sunlight, the visit to Trakai may take place on Wednesday after visiting the city.
Sightseeing tour of the city erected on top of seven hills (like Rome, to which they like comparing it). Its baroque churches, its walls, its castle, its market streets in the centre, its 1,200 medieval houses….. Free afternoon.
