After having breackfast we will climb the hill of Cristo del Otero, where it’s to be found the landmark of the Sacred Heart of Jesus having the best possible panoramic of Palencia. We go towards BECERRIL DE CAMPOS, declared in 2016 the most beautiful village of Spain. We will ride about the streets and we will visit San Pedro Cultural (ticket included) a church slimmed down to a surprising astronomical centre. We continue to PAREDES DE LA NAVA to visit Santa Eulalia church knowing the tablets of Pedro Berruguete. Our tour leads us to CARRION DE LOS CONDES. We will stroll through the major square, we will admire the famous Pantocrator of Santiago Church, summit of the Romanic sculpture and we will lean out to know Saint Zoilo Royal Monastery, today a guesthouse with a spectacular plateresque cloister. After lunch we will approach the Templar village of VILLALCAZAR DE SIRGA to visit its church of Santa Maria la Blanca (entrance included) , perfect example of the transit between Romanic to Gothic. After a few kilometres we reach to FROMISA, located just in the middle of the “route to Santiago” super famous Saint Martin Church (ticket included) , summit of Spanish Romanic of XI century being the most visited landmark of the province. To complete the day, we will do a Boat tour going through a section of the famous CANAL OF CASTILLA, to discover the landscape and the typical elements of the engineering work like: bridges, sluice system, aqueducts and chests. Today we will pass to Burgos province but still in the same cultural and historical area, REBOLLEDO DE LA TORRE, with two towers, in fact one from the medium age castle and the second from the church dedicated to Saint Julian and Saint Basilisa, the arcade virtuosic decorated, we will visit the church. We will return to Palencia to find and discover SAINT MARIA DE MAVE church belonging to an old Benedictine convent. In OLLEROS DE PISUERGA we will know the Hermits cave paintings of the saints Justo and Pastor, exquisite jewel of the Palentinian northern Romanic, completely carved in the stone. We return to AGUILAR DE CAMPOO to lunch. This beautiful village declared artistic historical group, considered the Palentinian capital of northern Romanic, hosting the impressive monastic complex where is to be found the interpretation centre of Romanic style in the Santa Maria la Real Monastery (ticket included). Today we are going to lean out to one of the most beautiful natural and singular landscapes of the palentinina province in Villaescusa de las Torres, located at the feet of the NATURAL LANDMARK OF “LAS TUERCES” Karstic scenario of weird and capricious formations. The climbing until the Mesa rock its of low difficulty and offers nooks and corners inviting to get lost in this maze. The people who prefers, can remain exploring the popular architecture. We jut out in Burgos province in parallel to Pisuerga river to reach the village CASTROJERIZ, located at the feet of the hill dominated by the remaining of what its left of a Castle. Different ruins and landmarks rise as a memory of the splendour had by the village. We will know the evocatory ruins of Saint Anton convent, Virgen del Manzano Church (ticket included) and we will stroll by his historical centre following “Santiago’s path” Time to lunch. Brief stop in PAMPLIEGA, Little village where the Visigoth King Wamba was sheltered after being betrayed. We continue to SANTA MARIA DEL CAMPO, in which historical heritage stands out the collegiate church of Asuncion de Nuestra, was built between XIII and XVIII centuries.
