We continue towards AGUILAR DE CAMPOO Beautiful village declared artistic historical group, considered the Palentinian capital of northern Romanic. We will visit Santa Maria la Real Monastery (ticket included) impressive monastic complex where is to be found the interpretation centre of Romanic style, time to get lunch and discover the beauty of the streets and churches. Accommodation At the afternoon we will know the main architectural milestones of the sourroundings like REBOLLEDO DE LA TORRE in Burgos province but in the same cultural and historical area, with two towers, in fact one from the medium age castle and the second from the church dedicated to Saint Julian and Saint Basilisa, the arcade virtuosic decorated, we will visit the church. We will discover SAINT MARIA DE MAVE church belonging to an old Benedictine convent. In OLLEROS DE PISUERGA we will know the Hermits cave paintings of the saints Justo and Pastor, exquisite jewel of the Palentinian northern Romanic, completely carved in the stone. We start the tour with a brief stop in ALAR DEL REY, where it’s to be found the km 0 of one of the big hydric engineering of the XVIII century, true dream of the literate: The Canal de Castilla, over there begins the north string, we will be able to see the first water retention, the dock, the storages of the channel neighbourhood and the old dungeons. We arrive to FROMISA, located just in the middle of the “route to Santiago” super famous Saint Martin Church (ticket included), summit of Spanish Romanic of XI century being the most visited landmark of the province. We will do a Boat tour going through a section of the famous CANAL OF CASTILLA, to discover the landscape and the typical elements of the engineering work like: bridges, sluice system, aqueducts and chests. We will approach the Templar village of VILLALCAZAR DE SIRGA to visit its church of Santa Maria la Blanca (entrance included), perfect example of the transit between Romanic to Gothic. After a few kilometres we will reach CARRION DE LOS CONDES. We will stroll through the major square, we will admire the famous Pantocrator of Santiago Church, summit of the Romanic sculpture and we will lean out to know Saint Zoilo Royal Monastery, today a guesthouse with a spectacular plateresque cloister. Lunch We continue to PAREDES DE LA NAVA to visit Santa Eulalia church knowing the tablets of Pedro Berruguete to reach afterwards BECERRIL DE CAMPOS, declared in 2016 the most beautiful village of Spain. We will ride about the streets discovering the curious overlapping styles, histories, colours and knowing some of its churches. We leave towards PALENCIA taking profit of the sun set, we will climb the hill of Cristo del Otero, where it’s to be found the landmark of the Sacred Heart of Jesus having the best possible panoramic of the city. During the morning we will tour around the wonders of PALENCIA. Visiting the Cathedral and Saint Antolin Crypt one of the oldest Gothic Cathedrals of Spain, with Visigoth and Romanic parts and the Cathedral Museum (Entrance included) Our Guide will conduct us through the historical centre until the Romanic Hermitage of Saint John, Saint Michael Church to see the impressive aspect of fortress legend included, we will stroll through Carrion river, the dock of Castilla Channel, a little string where the boats were used to download the goods for the city. Time to lunch We will start the afternoon going towards the municipality of Baños de Cerrato to know SAN JUAN DE BAÑOS church(Entrance included) , pre-Romanic jewel from the VII century perfectly preserved In Burgos province we will stop in SANTA MARIA DEL CAMPO, in which historical heritage stands out the collegiate church of Asuncion de Nuestra Señora that we will be able to visit, was built between XIII and XVIII centuries. We speak about one of the richest and biggest dimensions of the province, standing out the renaissance tower. Arrival to BILBAO.End of services.
