Welcome to your Europamundo Trip Style!!! The information about the meeting place and start time of your circuit can be found on your voucher.Let’s start our trip not far from Rome, in TIVOLI, where we will visit Villa Adriana (entrance included), one of the largest and most luxurious roman villas in the ancient world. Later, we will have enough time to have lunch and visit Villa d’Este (entrance included) a perfect example of Italian Mannerism, the villa and it’s famous gardens.Then, on the way to L’Aquila, we will stop at Magliano dei Marsi to know ALBA FUCENS, strategic spot with roman amphitheatre and theatre, medieval town and Roman church looking on to the valley of Lake Celano. CELANO’S CASTLE is our next stop. The sight of the no longer existing lake is today an example of one of the biggest engineering works carried out througout history, as the lake was emptied to gain more than 16.000 hectares of farming land . We proceed to L’AQUILA, where we will be able to have a stroll around the Cathedral Square and taste, if you are willing, some typical regional products.

Today, we are going to climb up to the castle named Forte Spagnolo de L’Aquila, stopping first at ISOLA DEL GRAN SASSO, small medieval town located at the base of the highest peak (Gran Sasso)in Apennine Mountains to enjoy wonderful views. Our next visit, TERAMO, capital of the Teramo Province. Time to walk around and enjoy the ruins of the Augustus Theatre and the nearby cathedral. We continue travelling to CAMPLI, to discover its small and nice historical modern looking centre, containing part of the Saint Staircase Relic (Scala Santa), our guide will tell us about. Time for lunch. On the outskirts of Campli stands the pre-roman necropolis whose pieces can be seen at the Archeological Museum. Last stop will be done in the Northern part of the Abruzzo, CIVITELLA DEL TRONTO. Visit to the fortress included and spare time to visit one of the most beautiful towns in the country. Do not forget to look for the lovers fountain and the ruetta più stretta d’Italia (the narrowest street in Italy). We´ll finish our interesting day in PESCARA, the largest city in the region, one of the most important cities due to its economic, commercial and turistic level by the Adriatic Coast. Accommodation.

Early departure from Pescara to visit SCANNO, medieval village of special beauty, famous not only for its local gastronomic products or silver and gold handicrafts, is also known for the early fifties photographs taken on the streets. A few kilometers away, between Sulmona and Pacentro, we wil enjoy the experience of making pasta ourselves. We will approach agro-tourism, specialists who run the “pasta” training work shops and field work. Lunch included. After lunch we will get to know PACENTRO, thousand-year-old history town, with its castle (entrance included),family homeland of a famous american singer. Could you guess who she is?! In the afternoon, we will visit SULMONA, poet Ovidio’s birthplace, full of monuments and pieces of arts as the cathedral (Duomo de San Pánfilo) and Santa María della Tomba church. We will pass through the square named la Piazza Garibaldi, place of religious significance in Abruzzo region. We will also see the confetti factory and museum “Fábrica/Museo de Confetti Pelino”, flagship product of Sulmona. Accomodation in Sulmona or nearby.

Our journey takes us today to PETTORANO SUL GIZIO, nice medieval village standing between tworivers; we will walk to the Cantelmo Castle and go down to the Old Communal Mill, an excellent example of the region modern local rural history. Later on, we will admire the tiny village of PIETRABBONDANTE, situated between hills and incredible beauty, with spectacular views from the belvedere that looks like an eagle nest. But just for those who darte to climb into it!. Later on, we will enter the arqueological site (entrance included), we will see the samnit-hellenistic city and the II century BC theatre-temple, one of the largest and best preserved examples of italic architecture of Magna Greece.Then, we will be in FROSOLONE, mountain village famous for its handmade knives, penknives and scissors. This handcraft is still alive and we will visit the last open knife-shop. Time for lunch.After some kilometers we will arrive to CAMPOBASSO, another city sitting on a hillside. We will go to the top and visit the Monnforte Castle and the historic centre of the Molise region capital. In the afternoon, we will reach BENEVENTO, in Campania region. We will have the opportunity to know its impressive historical and artistic heritage with our guide: the Roman Theater, the cathedral, the Trajan’s Arch, the Lombard Wall, Benevento Castle (Rocca dei Rettori) and the Council Park. After leaving Benevento we will stop shortly in SANT’AGATA DE’ GOTI, startling medieval town in the Campania region, we will be astonished. We will pass by Carolino Acqueduct, not far from Sant’Agata, name deriving in italian from King Charles III Bourbon, who had it built to supply water to CASERTA PALACE, where we will go later. This palace was built as an ideal and original fusion inspired by the Palace of Versailles and El Escorial, with the grand park and the gardens with fountains and cascades. It has been the administrative capital of the Kingdom of Naples from the second half of the 18 century. (entranceincluded) Not far away stands CAPUA, where we will visit the amphitheatre. It was in this place where the enduring legend of Spartacus, the rebel gladiator who recruited an army formed by slaves and defied Rome. After lunch and to round out these days discovering a “different” Italy, we will visit the ABADÍA DE MONTECASSINO, first Benedictine monastery, well-known as the battle field during the Second World War of the costly Battle of Monte Cassino.
