The information about the meeting place and start time of your circuit can be found on your voucher.Today we will spend the day walking around Amsterdam together with our tour guide. With an interesting history and a tireless atmosphere, we will walk through the centre of this elegant city. First of all, we will stroll through some of its most emblematic quarters such as the Jordaan or the Jewish quarter, crossing its numerous canals. We will then visit the Royal Palace located on Dam Square (entrance included). From there, we will go to the Begijnhof district to visit the oldest house in the city which is also one of the only preserved wooden buildings. Afterwards, we will look around the Flower Market which will be full of bright colors and the scent of fresh blossoms. After a walk through this beautiful market we will have some time to have lunch in one of the local restaurants. In the afternoon, we will take a boat trip through the canals. It will be an unforgettable experience that will allow us to continue discovering the nooks and crannies of the city (included). We will continue walking towards the Rembrandtplein district, a place full of life with its cafes, its commercial shops and its tributes to Dutch art. We will continue discovering the city and, after a good breakfast, we will head towards one of the most emblematic places in Amsterdam, the Van Gogh Museum located in Museumplein. With more than 200 works by the painter who influenced the art of the XX century. We will also find drawings and letters signed by the artist, the collection shows all the creative periods of the fabulous Dutch painter chronologically up to the end of his life (entrance included). We will continue our visit by heading towards the Red Light District in the heart of the city. This neighborhood is known for being one of the most liberals in the world in terms of its attitude towards prostitution, drugs and the sex industry in general. The many neon and red lights that give the neighborhood its name and decorate its world-famous "shop windows" will not leave you unmoved, Amsterdam is proud of its liberal policies! In the afternoon we will move on to the dynamic Leidseplein Square, especially vibrant at sunset, and very popular for its bars and restaurants. Accommodation.
AMSTERDAM 28ºF - 32ºF - NOORDWIJKERHOUT 34ºF - 39ºF - THE HAGUE 73ºF - 73ºF - DELFT 30ºF - 34ºF
We will leave Amsterdam early in the morning towards NOORDWIJKERHOUT. Here we will visit the Ridder Bloemen Flower Farm (entrance included) where we will get to know some of the facilities along with some explanations about the cultivation, characteristics and care of the tulips, the emblematic flowers of this country. We will continue our journey to the administrative capital of the country, THE HAGUE. Here, will visit Madurodam (entrance included), which is the smallest "city" of the Netherlands, and a theme park. In there we will find numerous scale models of Dutch monuments made to perfection, including natural trees, characters that walk through its streets, boats, trains ... all made to a scale 25 times smaller than reality. After the visit of the park we will go to The Hague where we will have the whole afternoon to get to know the city. We shouldn’t miss its most interesting places such as the famous Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis, the International Court of Justice, the Van Kleef distillery (which had Van Gogh as a client) or the Museum Gevangenpoort which was once a medieval prison. DELFT 30ºF - 34ºF - KINDERDIJK 30ºF - 36ºF - ROTTERDAM 32ºF - 37ºF
A few kilometres from The Hague is the lively university town of DELFT, known for its connection with the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, blue pottery and the Royal House. Wrapped in canals, this town offers a traditionally Dutch city centre and numerous churches, mansions, museums and music bars. We will have time to discover all its nooks and crannies with our tour guide. We will also visit the Royal Delft, a world-famous museum factory where Delft blue pottery is still produced by hand (entrance included). From here, we will continue our journey to the important port city of ROTTERDAM. Known as the Dutch city of architecture, with innovation as its focus and constant urban change, it also had the first pedestrian shopping street in Europe. Enjoy some free time to have lunch and a taste of Dutch cuisine.In the afternoon, we will drive to the town of KINDERDIJK where we will see a very typical Dutch image drawn by the nineteen beautiful windmills there. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and we will get to visit these windmills, learn how they work and how the Dutch people have been using water to their advantage for almost a 1 000 years (entrance included). Afterwards, we will return to Rotterdam to visit the "Cube Houses" designed by the Dutch architect Piet Blom. To get to know the city better we will take a ride on the Splashtours. This unique bus will take us on an amphibian tour through the city and over the waters of the Maas River (entrance included). We will finish our day in the covered market of Markthal, known not only for its bars, food shops and restaurants, but also for its extraordinary and admired architecture. Accommodation.
ROTTERDAM 32ºF - 37ºF - UTRECHT 34ºF - 36ºF - GIETHOORN 34ºF - 36ºF - VOLENDAM 30ºF - 36ºF
After breakfast we will be heading to the heart of the Netherlands to visit the cheerful and lively university town of UTRECHT and its Dom Tower, visible from all parts of the city centre. We will have some time to stroll among its cafes, canals and beautiful pedestrian down town. Our next stop will be GIETHOORN, situated in the Weerribben-Wieden National Park. It is an idyllic village with a great number of thatched-roof farmhouses. They are on small islands that can only be reached through the canals by boat (entrance included). We will head north to VOLENDAM, an old fishermen’s village known for its charming harbour, its architecture, its fish trade and the authentic character of its inhabitants. We will stroll around this beautiful village for the rest of the day. Accommodation
VOLENDAM 30ºF - 36ºF - MARKEN 34ºF - 37ºF - ZAANSE SCHANS - AMSTERDAM 28ºF - 32ºF
We will spend the morning rambling through Volendam. Afterwards, we will continue our tour towards traditional villages in the north of the country. Get ready to immerse yourselves in the authentic Dutch culture. The first village we will get to know is MARKEN, which we will reach by boat (included). Once there, we will be able to walk around this idyllic peninsula and admire its little wooden houses. Our next small town is ALKMAAR, considered "the city of cheese”. It holds a wonderful old town full of monuments, a pleasant shopping area and lots of terraces, cafes and restaurants of all kinds. We will continue our tour visiting ZAANSE SCHANS, a real outdoor museum where Dutch craftsmen live and work. Here, visitors can learn about the Dutch culture, their mills, their clogs, their crafts, their bakery... After the visit of this beautiful town we will return to Amsterdam, where we will end our journeyaround this beautiful country. End of services.
