The information about the meeting place and start time of your circuit can be found on your voucher.We will leave Brussels early in the direction of DURBUY, a small medieval town surrounded by forests on the banks of the Ourthe River, known as “the smallest city in the world”. It has a castle surrounded by narrow alleys full of charm and a curious park. We will walk through its cobbled streets and along the wooded path that surrounds the town. Next, we will stop at the Abbey of Our Lady of Saint Remy of ROCHEFORT, located in a beautiful environment. This beautiful town has a small museum dedicated to Trappist Beers where we will find the beers made in the abbey (entrance included). Rochefort also stands out for its Neo-Romanesque style Our Lady of the Visitation College Church and for the Counts Castle Ruins. We continue to DINANT, a beautiful city on the banks of the Meuse River and nestled between the rocky massif of the Ardennes, a true postcard city. We shall cross the Charles de Gaulle Bridge in order to appreciate the urban landscape, where we will be able to spot the Citadel and the impressive Collegiate Church of Our Lady. We will have time to stroll around and after a good lunch we will take a panoramic river cruise (entrance included). We will enter the small region of Gaume to visit the Abbey Our Lady of Orval, one of the most beautiful in Europe and located in a natural reserve. A place where they elaborated not only their own trappist beer, but also their famous cheese. In its premises it has a monastic museum, “Communs Abraham”, a garden of medicinal plants, Countess Matilde famous fountain, a pharmaceutical museum and the ruins of the old Abbey (entrance included). We will have the opportunity to taste their beers and cheeses in the gastronomic space “A l´Ange Gardien”. We can also stroll around the beautiful natural landscapes that surround it. We enter the green region of the Ardennes. Our first stop will be at the Abbey of Our Lady of Scourmont of Chimay, a Trappist Monastery located on a plateau where hundreds of years ago the monks began to make beer and cheese in order to help the region. We can learn about its history and curiosities in the Interactive Space with an exclusive tasting of Chimay Dorée (entrance included). We will then head to TOURNAI, one of the oldest cities in Belgium, an important economic, cultural and religious centre during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Together with our guide, we will walk through its historic centre and contemplate the Main Square, the Cathedral with its Beffroi, the oldest bell tower in Belgium. We will now move to the province of East Flanders where the beautiful GHENT stands out. Sentimental capital of Flanders and birthplace of Emperor Charles V, one of the cities with the greatest monumental heritage in the country, a true Flemish jewel. We will take a photographic walking tour of its historic centre, visiting Saint Bavo´s Cathedral, which houses one of the most admired paintings in the world on its altar: “The Adoration of the Mystical Lamb”. We will walk through its Town Hall, the Civil Bell Tower, the Churches of Saint Michael and Saint Nicholas, the Herbs Pier or the Counts´ Castle. We will have dinner for its lively centre and accommodation.

We will pass through the province of West Flanders and among landscapes that were the site of World War I to arrive at the Abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren, the only place in the world to taste what is considered by experts and many fans as the best beer in the world, the “Westvleteren 12” (admission included). Let´s continue our tour towards one of the best-preserved medieval cities in the world: BRUGES. A quiet and welcoming city of beauty suspended in time, surrounded by its wall and full of canals that will make us travel to the Middle Ages. Time to walk through its centre and discover its corners and monuments: the Minnewater or “Lake of Love”, the Béguinage, St. John´s Hospital, Our Lady´s Church, the Rosary Quay or the unforgettable Main Square with its bell tower and its palaces. We continue to immerse ourselves in the world of Trappist Beer and for this we will visit the Trappist Abbey of Westmalle, located in a beautiful environment where you can breathe the tranquillity of the monks who live there (entrance included). We can taste the beers elaborated in the abbey and their delicious cheeses in their “Trappisten” café. We will now head towards the “city of diamonds”, ANTWERP. A city of contrasts where we will find medieval buildings such as its Town Hall or the houses in the Great Market Square up to the contemporary Palace of Justice and all its Art Noveau jewels, an authentic city with style.Before ending our Flemish tour, we will stop at the Abbey of St Benedict of Achel where we will find the store with the largest variety of beer on the entire tour (entrance included). As in the previous Trappist abbeys we can observe the quiet life of its monks, where prayer, reading and the manual elaboration of their products mark their lifestyle. We will return to BRUSSELS being almost experts in the history of Trappist beer, since, as the monastics say “a beer made with knowledge is drunk with wisdom”. End of services.
