Today we will have a fantastic day in the First City of America, Santo Domingo. We include a panoramic visit of the city. We will visit its colonial area, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, walk through its streets, including the first street of America, ¨Las Damas¨ and reach the Primate Cathedral of America (entrance included), dedicated to Santa Maria de la Encarnacion, which was built on the orders of Pope Julius II in 1504. Next to the Cathedral, we will visit the "Parque Colón", a place for the locals with bars and restaurants to enjoy a good time at leisure. After that, we will also visit the Ozama Fortress (entrance included), and we will arrive at the "Alcazar de Colón" (entrance included), the first of the new world. Free afternoon for shopping in one of Santo Domingo´s modern shopping malls or its traditional market hall called Mercado Modelo. In the evening, we include a transfer to Plaza España, where we can contemplate the beauty and joy of the colonial area at night and enjoy one of its restaurants or bars.

After breakfast, we set off to the north of the Dominican Republic, crossing the central mountain range with beautiful views. We will stop in BOANO, at the centre of the Island, to taste an excellent typical Dominican coffee. We continue to LA VEGA, where we will visit the Sanctuary of Santo Cerro, where, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary made her first appearance in America. We will also be able to enjoy the view of La Vega Real Valley. Dominicans consider Santo Cerro as one of the most sacred places on the Island. We include a typical ¨CIBAEÑO¨ lunch in this area. We continue our route to JARABACOA, a city between mountains with impressive landscapes, an average annual temperature of 22ºC (72ºF) and abundant rainfall almost all year round. Preferred by Dominicans for spiritual retreats, it is a city full of peace and natural environment. We will be staying at the Gran Jimeneoa hotel, named after the river that runs through its surroundings.

After breakfast we will have a brief visit to Jarabacoa including a horseback ride through La Confluencia, where the Yaque del Norte and Jimenoa rivers meet. Free time for lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the area.Afterwards, we will head to PUERTO PLATA, one of the main tourist centres in the Dominican Republic. All-inclusive hotel accommodation.

After breakfast, we include a walk through Puerto Plata city, where we will go up to Isabel de Torres through its tradicional cable car that allows us to have an impressive view of the entire island. We will visit the amber museum and The Brugal house, the point where the most tradicional rum in the Dominican Republic is made.

After lunch, we leave for the second most important city in the Dominican Republic, the first Santiago of America, SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS. Panoramic tour included upon arrival.In the evening we will have a transfer to the city center with time for dinner, enjoy the night in Santiago and take the traditional car ride through the so-called heart city. There, you will enjoy its atmosphere with the typical sounds of merengue or bachata.Note: if the departure flight is in the morning from Santo Domingo, the accommodation would be in Santo Domingo.
